GOOD FARMING - GOOD FOOD
Agriculture being the contributor of one fourth of India’s GDP,
becomes one of the largest sources of livelihood in India.
70% of rural households still depend upon agriculture for their
livelihood, where almost 80 % of the farmers are smallholders.
Even after being one of the leading agricultural producers in the
world, India faces an acute malnutritional crisis. The worst-hit
amongst its population are women and children. According to UNICEF,
malnutrition causes 69% of death below the age of five in our country.
Most of the children under the age of five are affected by
micronutrient deficiencies.
